Like most of the team, Kate hails from an agricultural background, spending much of her childhood on a wheat and sheep property in northern Victoria. As the Communication Manager for the Cooperative Research Centre for National Plant Biosecurity, she was presented with a combined CEO/Board award in appreciation of her enthusiasm and commitment to the communication portfolio. She has a diverse track record spanning both rural and mainstream media having held senior editorial, PR and management positions with ABC Radio and ABC Rural (on-air broadcaster), Rural Press Ltd (now Australian Community Media), AgForce, the National Farmers’ Federation and large PR agencies.
